Cord, or corduroy, is a cotton fabric with twisted fibres made to give it it's discinct ridge pattern. In Europe, this can also be known under the name Manchester Cloth.
This cord is is extremely durable, with a cord layout 8 ridges per inch. Cords like this are sometimes called needlecord. It is a great fabric for trousers, jackets and shirts.
